The preparation of the site was cut short in March 2020 when Paul Odiwour Ogola and his training and development team from Homa Bay in Kenya had to return home when the COVID-19 quarantine was announced. They had carried out 9 intense days of ground preparation, recent reports and photographs show initial stages to have been very successful.
Not only has the site developed well, but new friends in the area from Mount Elgon Coffee and Honey Co-operative, who joined an informal workshop led by Paul, are enjoying yield from their newly implemented keyhole bed.
It is anticipated that two individuals from the local team will attend the September PDC hosted at Kumi Happy Home to develop their skills and move forward in the planning for the training programme at Budumba.
