Since its foundation, The Arkleton Trust has promoted the empowerment of rural communities. Through small grant funding it facilitates study tours and exchanges between countries, encouraging rural development through the sharing of knowledge and experience.
Historically, Arkleton has supported national and international approaches to rural development policy, with particular emphasis on assisting and promoting rural development in lower and lower-middle income countries. This has been done through a range of means, including publications, seminars, study tours and fellowships.
