October 2008 Newsletter

The Arkleton Trust will award the David Moore Memorial Award 2009 of up to £900 to a student engaged in the study of rural development and social change in Europe and/or the Third World, to enable the winner to supplement academic course work with some research or practical field investigations, leading to a report or dissertation etc.

The purpose of the award/s is to stimulate both discussion of the mechanism by which the developed and developing worlds can be brought closer together, and/or to investigate the impact of Third World experience on future development in the less favoured areas of Europe.

Applications concerning how rural communities adapt to climate change will be particularly welcome. Applications need to be supported by your course tutor and be received by us no later than 31st January 2009.
